Fear of Travel
11 minFearFlare-Ups + SetbacksHealth Anxiety & Medical Fears
Travel is tricky.
Travel can be especially testing if we are already at full capacity.
Or maybe you've had experiences on the road away from home that didn't feel ideal and it's as if your brain is scared that things will go wrong...because last time they did!
Perhaps we are hanging on to "health" by what feels like a butterfly-thin thread and the idea of having to manage symptoms, socialize, be in the car/airport for hours on end, etc. without the comforts of home feels like WAY too much.
Or maybe, it's the fear around travel that creates stories of worst-case scenario: What if I won't be able to go to the bathroom? What if I have a flare-up from the hotels cleaning products? What if I can't prepare my "safe foods?" What if I feel AWFUL the entire trip and won't even be able to enjoy it?
Regardless of what your brain might be telling you, if deep down there is a part of you that WANTS to travel (even if it might be a bit challenging), this sequence is for you. If there is a part of you that feels frustrated for not being "able" to travel or just feeling too "ill" to travel, this is also for you.
Let me know: how did this one feel? Any shifts? Any "aha" moments?
